Chaoqun Huang's research has made significant contributions to various fields, including analytical chemistry and medical diagnostics. In the realm of food safety, Huang has developed methods for determining penicillic acid in cereals using solid-phase extraction and gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry, highlighting the importance of monitoring this contaminant. Additionally, their work on detecting volatile organic compounds (VOCs) associated with bacteria and analyzing exhaled breath after radiotherapy have shown promise for rapid disease diagnosis and monitoring. In chemical analysis, Huang has also developed techniques for determining residues in tea, latex paint, and fruit juices, as well as identifying n-containing oxygenated molecules using a chemical-ionization orbitrap. Furthermore, their research on proton transfer reaction mass spectrometry has led to the development of new instruments, such as the DC-ion funnel drift tube, enabling more accurate and efficient analysis. These contributions have important implications for ensuring food safety, detecting diseases, and advancing analytical chemistry techniques.
