Adam S. Shai

Stanford University

Adam S. Shai's research has made significant contributions to understanding the neural mechanisms underlying learning-related plasticity, brain function, and DNA nanostructure properties. Their work on dendritic compartmentalization of learning-related plasticity and kilohertz two-photon brain imaging in awake mice has expanded our knowledge of how neurons process information and adapt to experience. Additionally, studies on branching into brains, cortical function inference through large-scale systems neuroscience, and the physiology of layer 5 pyramidal neurons have shed light on neural circuitry and sensory processing. Furthermore, research on DNA nanostructures using energy transfer spectroscopy has provided insights into their three-dimensional structure and thermal stability.
