Anae Sobhani's research focuses on understanding commuting behaviors and transportation choices, particularly among dual-earner households with school-age children in China. Studies examine factors influencing travel mode dissonance, travel satisfaction, and aggressive driving behavior, shedding light on the determinants of commute mode choice. Other works investigate the impact of commuting on time use and life satisfaction, as well as the spatial distribution of ride-hailing services and dockless bike-sharing usage. The research also explores the role of virtual immersive reality in stated preference experiments for autonomous vehicles and develops a new model for cyclists' route choice using GPS data. These findings have important implications for urban planning, transportation policy, and the development of sustainable mobility solutions, offering insights into how commuting behaviors can be optimized to improve quality of life.
