Aneta Borecki

Western University

Aneta Borecki's research focuses on developing innovative polymeric systems for targeted drug delivery, particularly in intra-articular applications. Recent studies have led to the design of self-immolative polyplexes for DNA delivery, GSK3787-loaded particles for intra-articular drug release, thermoresponsive and cross-linkable hydrogels, and hybrid polymer nanoparticles with controlled drug release capabilities. Additionally, zinc and cadmium ferrocenechalcogenolate complexes have been synthesized, while arborescent polyisobutylene derivatives and a paclitaxel conjugate have shown promise for stent coatings with prolonged drug release. These advancements hold significant potential for the development of improved treatments for various diseases, including arthritis and cancer.
