Davi Mendes has made significant contributions to various fields of cancer research, immune response, and cellular biology. Their recent publications highlight the importance of amino acid complexes in inhibiting breast cancer cell progression through apoptosis, and the role of Nrf2 in sensitizing temozolomide-resistant glioblastoma cells to ferroptosis. Additionally, studies on melanopsin reveal its oncogenic potential in cutaneous melanoma, while loss of function leads to accelerated cell cycle progression in murine melanocytes. Mendes' research also explores the impact of trypanosomiasis on human DNA damage and oxidative stress, as well as the sensing mechanism for soluble uric acid via Naip1-Nlrp3 platform.
