Guri Bang
CICERO Center for International Climate Research, Norwegian University of Life Sciences
Guri Bang's research contributes significantly to our understanding of climate policy, energy transition, and international cooperation. By analyzing coal phase-out policies in Germany, the UK, and the US, Bang identifies key factors for accelerating decarbonization, highlighting the importance of balancing cost concerns with justice issues. This work informs domestic climate policy mixes and their impact on Paris Agreement compliance. Additionally, Bang explores the role of oil in welfare versus risk frameworks, petroleum resource governance, and institutional adaptation to climate change through automated mediation and municipal flood responses in Norway.
