Hatem M. Belal
Purdue University West Lafayette
Hatem M. Belal's research focuses on optimizing the performance and stability of composite solid rocket propellants, with a particular emphasis on fluorine-containing nano-aluminum composite particles. Recent studies have validated relations for determining pyrotechnic igniter mass, mitigated irregular burning in small solid propellant rocket motors, and investigated star grains in dual thrust solid propellant motors. Additionally, Belal has developed simplified models for liquid propellant rocket engine combustion chamber design, including a vaporization-controlled approach, which significantly enhances the accuracy of predictions. These contributions have substantial implications for advancing the development of more efficient and reliable rocket propulsion systems.
