Lorena Deuker
Radboud University Nijmegen
Lorena Deuker's research has significantly advanced our understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying memory formation, particularly in the context of temporal structure and spatial navigation. Their studies have linked retrieval practice to activity in both temporal and frontal regions of the brain, shedding light on the cognitive processes involved in mnemonic construction and retrieval. Additionally, Deuker's work has elucidated the role of the hippocampus in constructing sequence memories that generalize temporal relations across experiences, as well as its involvement in path integration deficits associated with Alzheimer's disease risk carriers. These findings have important implications for our understanding of memory, cognition, and neurodegenerative disorders.
