University of British Columbia
Researcher M. Beaudoin has made significant contributions to the development of flexible high-performance photovoltaic devices, focusing on 2D MOS2 diodes with geometrically asymmetric contact areas. Studies have also explored the impact of processing on the optical absorption onset of CDTe thin-films and solar cells. Further investigations have investigated the bandedge optical properties of MBE-grown GaAsBi films using photoluminescence and photothermal deflection spectroscopy, as well as the bandedge absorption of GaAsN films. Additionally, real-time control of substrate temperature using band edge thermometry has been demonstrated. These advancements hold promise for improving the efficiency and flexibility of solar cells, with potential applications in wearable electronics and thin-film devices.
