Markel García-Díez
Universidad de Cantabria
Markel García-Díez has made significant contributions to climate research through their work on various projects. Their implementation of fair principles in the IPCC's WGI AR6 Atlas Repository enhances data quality and accessibility. Additionally, their worldwide C3S Cordex Grand Ensemble provides a comprehensive assessment of regional climate change. Garcia-Díez also led research on climate services for health, predicting the evolution of the 2016 dengue season in Machala, Ecuador, and developing early-warning systems for heat wave-related mortality in Europe. Furthermore, they investigated land-atmosphere coupling, urban heat island effects, and model biases in regional climate hindcast simulations over Europe.
