Mina K. Chung
Cleveland Clinic
Researcher Mina K. Chung has made significant contributions to understanding cardiac arrhythmias and autonomic dysfunction associated with COVID-19, as well as their impact on patients' quality of life and outcomes. Studies have identified trends and gender differences in stroke mortality rates among those with atrial fibrillation/flutter, and explored the relationship between sleep disturbance, physical activity, and atrial fibrillation burden. Chung's work also highlights the importance of device-recorded physical activity in predicting atrial fibrillation recurrence, as well as the role of genetic variants such as syne2 in modulating nuclear and electrophysiological traits associated with the condition. Furthermore, their research underscores the need for personalized approaches to managing atrial fibrillation, including catheter ablation, cardiac physiologic pacing, and the use of CPAP therapy for sleep apnea management.
