Nelly Abulata
Cairo University
Researcher Nelly Abulata has made significant contributions to various fields of study, including immunology, genetics, and liver diseases. Their recent studies have explored the associations between vitamin D receptor polymorphisms, immune thrombocytopenia, sickle cell disease, recurrent spontaneous abortion, hepatitis C virus infection, and B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma risk. Notably, Abulata's work has found that vitamin D insufficiency is not associated with pediatric and adolescent immune thrombocytopenia, nor sepsis in critically ill children. Additionally, liver macrophage depletion has been shown to improve mesenchymal stem cell transplantation outcomes in a murine model of injured liver. These findings highlight the importance of understanding genetic polymorphisms in disease susceptibility and development, ultimately informing personalized treatment strategies.
