Pranav Mathkar's research has made significant contributions to various fields of study. In the realm of intervertebral disc biology, single-cell atlases have been developed to unveil cellular heterogeneity and novel markers in both neonatal and adult discs, providing valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms of disc degeneration. Additionally, studies on hepatitis B virus integrations in hepatocellular carcinoma genomes offer new perspectives on viral oncogenesis. Research on ALS has led to the characterization of disease signatures in iPSC-derived motor neuron models, revealing early convergent transcriptomic patterns and shedding light on the progression of the disease.
