Yebo Du's research focuses on understanding tectonic sedimentary evolution, hydrocarbon accumulation, and petroleum systems in Central Africa. Recent studies have shed light on the complex history of hydrocarbon accumulation in the Sirte Basin, the Bongor Basin, and the Doso Depression, with key findings including the identification of strike-slip faulting mechanisms and the role of mesogenetic dissolution in carbonate formation. Additionally, research has explored depositional systems, reservoir characteristics, and organic geochemical signatures of lower Cretaceous source rocks and crude oils, shedding new light on the petroleum potential of the Doso Basin and surrounding regions.
